How to Print Consistent Colors?

When other conditions being equal, different printers can be adjusted to keep unified colors. a technician told us. However, it is really hard to ensure all the conditions are equal. Equipment of different brands may produce different colors. The new and old print head can result in different colors. Also, different materials even printed with the same machine may present different colors. Then how to keep the color consistent while printing?

One of the effective ways is to use the color control systems. There are quite a lot of such systems in the market now. And most of them promise to keep the colors unified for different equipment and different materials. To some extent, the color control system has broken through some limitations for color unity. But while you put this system into use, you will still encounter some problems:
First, the auto color transformation is complex, and all artworks should be sent to the headquarter data to analyze and match;
Second, color transformation is too time-consuming for small orders since it takes time to do the color matching for so many different artworks.
Under this situation, we need to find another way to solve the color matching problem for small orders. At first, we can try to use the ICC curve. The ICC curve is an international color matching standard that is used to keep the color unified from the beginning to finish. By adopting the ICC curve, we can achieve consistent color, and at the same time, we dont need to be bothered with the long color transformation time.
However, the ICC curve cannot solve all the problems. Mistakes will be made when it comes to solid color printing and problems like color value superposition still exist. To solve this problem, another color-matching standard-- Pantone C-- is introduced. Pantone C provides a standard for the color conversion from RGB to CMYK. Then when we try to keep colors in uniform, the color palette can be used for the solid color and ICC curve for other gradient colors.
In sum, keeping color in uniform is a tough and urgent problem that needs to be further explored. By drawing on past experience and taking advantage of advanced technology, we believe a better result will be achieved.

A Couple of Brothers: RGB VS CMYK

I guess you have probably heard thousands of times the terms RGB and CMYK in daily working, yet do you really know what they are, when to use and why? When it comes to designing for print, there is a range of things you need to consider that includes the design itself, the type of files, color mode setting, the printing capability of equipment, etc. Among these factors, the color mode acts as a bridge that connects your designs and the final result.   Let’s uncover the basic logic behind color mode choice A golden rule in the printing industry is anything dealing with the web should always be in RGB and printed materials should be in CMYK. In the following, I will briefly explain the reason behind that.   WHAT IS RGB & CMYK? RGB  is an additive process that stands for red, green, blue.The main purpose of the RGB color model is for the sensing, representation, and display of images in computer monitors. However different devices detect or reproduce the same RGB value d...

How to Care for Your Custom Flag or Banner?

No matter a custom flag that is always exposed to the open air or a custom banner that is often used for decoration or advertising, these fabric flags may become dingy and their color may gradually fade as time goes on. In order to prolong the lifespan of your custom flags, regular flag care is necessary. Here are some tips that can help you make flags clean and crisp for a longer time. #1 Fade Prevention Exposure to the sun will definitely cause your flags to fade quickly but you can slow down this process by taking some measures. For instance, you can spray your flags with a UV fabric protector which creates a coat on the fabric. In terms of storing your flags, put them in a dry and dark area free from any lighting (be it artificial or natural light). #2 Protect Your Flags From Harsh Weather The lifetime of your flag is highly dependent on the weather conditions. The more horrible the weather, the less time the flag will last. It is therefore advisable that you make your flag flutte...

Cutting Down Cost: Efficiency is the King

When the cost of your product is 50 US dollars, you sell it at 70 US dollars, and then 20 US dollars will fall into your pocket, are these 20 US dollars your profit? From the perspective of finance, 20 US dollars are your margin. However, when it comes to business, they are barely dividends. Dividends are something that only exists when there is little competition in the market. When more and more new competitors enter the industry, there will always be someone who may sell the product at a much lower price to occupy the market, and once much lower prices appear in this market, the competition will be fierce, and then the dividend will disappear. True profit doesn’t simply equal to selling price minus cost. The key to making a profit is your ability to cut costs through innovation. There are two ways to cut costs, one is the management and the other is technology innovation. Efficiency can be improved through management. You can use management tools to make your em...
