Dye Sublimated Canopy Tent VS Screen Printed Canopy Tent

 I guess many people know there are 2 printing methods for Display Tents: Silk Screen Printing & Dye-Sublimation Printing. However, most people have no idea of the difference between silk screen printing & dye-sublimation printing or don't know which printing method they should choose.

Based on my 10 years’ experience in the advertising textile printing industry, here I summarize some points that you need to know when choosing the printing method for your custom tents.

Silk Screen Printing

As is well-known, Low Price is the first and direct reason that many people choose silk screen printing. But as the most traditional printing method, it also has some features that might not meet your needs well. The production process is complicated & long, the PMS color matching is not flexible, and it would usually have a requirement for Minimum Order Quantity and setting up fee. Therefore Silk Screen Printing is not suitable for small orders for fast delivery and customization.

More details of silk screen printing are as follows:

1. There is a restriction for logo size, neither too big nor too small details can not be printed out;

2. Logo design and colors are also limited, only simple design and solid color can be accepted;

3. The commonly used fabric is 420D PVC, which is only Water Proof and UV Protection, NOT Flame Retardant.

4. Custom color fabric is not acceptable, only the stock color fabric is available;

5. MOQ: 50pcs per design;

6. The production process is complicated and long. 20-30days would usually need for an order to be made. The production department needs to set up the production printing plate, fix the printing plate, and then start to print. And repeated printing is required to make sure the logo is saturated. When the printing is finished, you will need to wait for it drying in the air.

Dye Sublimation Printing

As the digital printing method is increasingly mature and becomes an international level, more and more people are willing to choose a digital printing method because of its fast delivery and environment-friendly. Dye Sublimation Printing is one of the digital printing, which is widely used in the advertising textile printing industry for Tents, Banners & Display Products. Although the price of dye sublimation printing is higher than the silk screen printing, it is much more flexible and easier to produce.

More details of Dye Sublimation Printing are as follows:

1. There is NO restriction for logo size, NO restriction for logo design, or color. Any size, any design,  and any color are welcome to print;

2. The commonly used fabric is 600D PU. And a cheaper option is 300D PU. They are Water Proof, UV Protection and Flame Retardant.

3. Also NO restriction to fabric color, any color can be customized as per order request;

4. NO MOQ;

5. Simple production process: You place order online-Artwork to be sent to the factory directly after approved - our factory produce overnight - Order be shipped the next morning;

6. Fast lead time: 24hours 48hours/72hours are all possible

To sum up, when you have a large quantity order, you don't need to receive it in a hurry, and the logo is simple, Silk Screen Printing is a more economical solution for you. On the contrary, for regular small orders of tents, Dye Sublimation Printing is a better choice. You can design whatever you want, deliver your brand philosophy in all aspects, we can print them out for you.

When it comes to designing for print, there is a range of things you need to consider that includes the design itself, the type of files, color mode setting, the printing capability of equipment, etc. Among these factors, the color mode acts as a bridge that connects your designs and the final result.   Let’s uncover the basic logic behind color mode choice A golden rule in the printing industry is anything dealing with the web should always be in RGB and printed materials should be in CMYK. In the following, I will briefly explain the reason behind that.   WHAT IS RGB & CMYK? RGB  is an additive process that stands for red, green, blue.The main purpose of the RGB color model is for the sensing, representation, and display of images in computer monitors. However different devices detect or reproduce the same RGB value d...

How to Care for Your Custom Flag or Banner?

No matter a custom flag that is always exposed to the open air or a custom banner that is often used for decoration or advertising, these fabric flags may become dingy and their color may gradually fade as time goes on. In order to prolong the lifespan of your custom flags, regular flag care is necessary. Here are some tips that can help you make flags clean and crisp for a longer time. #1 Fade Prevention Exposure to the sun will definitely cause your flags to fade quickly but you can slow down this process by taking some measures. For instance, you can spray your flags with a UV fabric protector which creates a coat on the fabric. In terms of storing your flags, put them in a dry and dark area free from any lighting (be it artificial or natural light). #2 Protect Your Flags From Harsh Weather The lifetime of your flag is highly dependent on the weather conditions. The more horrible the weather, the less time the flag will last. It is therefore advisable that you make your flag flutte...

Cutting Down Cost: Efficiency is the King

When the cost of your product is 50 US dollars, you sell it at 70 US dollars, and then 20 US dollars will fall into your pocket, are these 20 US dollars your profit? From the perspective of finance, 20 US dollars are your margin. However, when it comes to business, they are barely dividends. Dividends are something that only exists when there is little competition in the market. When more and more new competitors enter the industry, there will always be someone who may sell the product at a much lower price to occupy the market, and once much lower prices appear in this market, the competition will be fierce, and then the dividend will disappear. True profit doesn’t simply equal to selling price minus cost. The key to making a profit is your ability to cut costs through innovation. There are two ways to cut costs, one is the management and the other is technology innovation. Efficiency can be improved through management. You can use management tools to make your em...
